Senet Collaborates with University of New Hampshire at Smart Gadget Competition

Senet teams up with industry and ecosystem partners to help UNH students collaborate and build custom IoT solutions

Durham, NH and Portsmouth, NH – (April 5, 2017) – Senet, the first and fastest growing North American provider of public, low-power, wide-area networks (LPWANs) for long range Internet of Things (IoT) applications supporting the LoRaWAN™ protocol, today announced that it will be collaborating with the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory and the UNH Connectivity Research Center as a key sponsor at the upcoming Smart Gadget Competition, being held on April 8, 2017 at UNH’s InterOperability Laboratory.

This one-day event will bring together UNH students, faculty, and industry to identify a problem and build a solution utilizing sensors and LoRaWAN™ radios. Senet will also be joined as a sponsor for this event by MultiTech, STMicroelectronics, and Exosite. Participants will be trained on how to access Senet’s LoRaWan network and develop a real product prototype using a MultiConnect mDot module for LoRa(R) technology from MultiTech together with STMicroelectronics’ environmental and proximity sensors.

“We are thrilled to be a sponsor of the Smart Gadget Competition along with our ecosystem partners,” said Dave Kjendal, SVP of Engineering and CTO at Senet. “As a proud UNH alumni member, I am personally engaged in the UNH community. As part of Senet, we have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with UNH and the UNH-IOL and we are committed to strengthening our relationship with the university in support of innovation. Senet is the first and fastest growing North American provider of public, low-power, wide-area networks (LPWANs) for long range Internet of Things (IoT) applications supporting the LoRaWAN™ protocol. The advent of low cost, battery powered sensors that can last years in the field are enabling new use cases and business models that were never before practical. We’re excited to see what these talented students can envision.”

About Senet, Inc.
Senet, a contributing member of the LoRa Alliance™, is the first and fastest growing provider in North America of low-power, wide-area networks (LPWANs) with its class-leading LoRa® modulation for IoT/M2M applications. LPWANs enable value-driven solutions that can unlock immediate ROI by enabling devices to connect over very long ranges (approximately 15 miles) while delivering very long battery power life (approximately 10 years) for an extremely low total cost of ownership. For applications that require low cost, low power, and long range, the secure Senet network has distinct advantages over cellular, Wi-Fi, and other emerging connectivity technologies for the IoT market.
