Senet Launches the Second Phase of Its LoRaWAN™ Network Deployment Strategy by Announcing Two Microcell Partnerships

PORTSMOUTH, N.H.May 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Senet, the first and only North American provider of public low-power wide area networks (LPWANs) using the industry standard LoRa® modulation for IoT applications, today announced the release of two microcell solutions as part of its overall network as a service offering.   The solutions are being brought to market initially in collaboration with MultiTech and Kerlink and will be expanded to support other gateway providers over time.   Both indoor and outdoor versions are supported as part of the initial release greatly expanding the range of applications that can be deployed with faster time to market and reduced cost.   The 8 channel microcell solutions will augment Senet’s previous deployment of 64 channel macrocells significantly broadening coverage and enabling new applications.  Typically, whereas macrocells have to be deployed on towers at higher elevations requiring longer planning and implementation cycles, microcell solutions can be deployed in places and ways that are far less costly and can be brought to market in a much shorter time.

“Adding the microcell solution as part of our overall offering was crucial to maintaining our leadership position in the low-power wide area network space,” said George Dannecker, president & CEO of Senet.  “The microcell solutions transform how LPWAN networks will scale and evolve to meet the needs of a wider set of applications, deployment environments and cost requirements at scale, especially as an augmentation to our existing macrocell deployments.   At a fraction of the cost of macrocell only deployments, it will now be possible to service many ROI driven applications across a variety of different verticals.  This means that companies previously considering solutions with a private network can implement the same solution on our network at a fraction of the cost with proven reliability and scale.   For those companies considering cellular as an option, we can offer broader coverage in areas where cellular can’t, and at very low total cost of ownership.”

Dima Tokar, co-founder and CTO of IoT research firm MachNation stated, “It’s exciting to see Senet continue to innovate in the LPWAN space.  Thus far, Senet has taken a leadership role in North America by deploying a public LoRa-based network for the IoT.  LPWAN technologies are a key enabler for growth of IoT and Senet’s microcell offering will improve coverage in difficult-to-reach areas and will further accelerate deployment of IoT solutions.”

Senet will use the microcell solutions to accelerate its rapidly growing network footprint, which it expects to more than double by the end of 2016.   This coupled with the ever growing LoRa Alliance member community will continue to fuel the deployment of IoT applications.

About Senet, Inc.
Senet, a contributing member of the LoRa® Alliance, is the first and only public provider in North America of low-power wide area networks (LPWAN) with its class leading LoRa® modulation for IoT/M2M applications. LPWANs enable value-driven solutions that can unlock immediate ROI by enabling devices to connect over very long ranges (approximately 15 miles) while delivering very long battery power life (approximately 10 years) for an extremely low total cost of ownership. Low cost, low power and secure, the Senet network has distinct advantages over cellular, Wi-Fi, and other emerging connectivity technologies for the IoT market.  For additional information, visit http://www.senetco.com or contact Senet at +1.603.821.0003.
