Senet Announces Coverage in 10 Additional Major Metropolitan Areas of the US

Continues commitment of being the first and fastest growing low-power wide-area network in North America supporting a wide range of IoT applications

Portsmouth, NH – October 18, 2016 — Senet, the first and fastest growing North American provider of public, low-power, wide-area networks (LPWANs) for long range-based (LoRa®-based) Internet of Things (IoT) applications, today announced coverage in 10 additional major metropolitan areas of the U.S.  Already in 110 cities covering more than 125,000 square miles of the U.S., Senet will now offer its service in Los Angeles, New York City, Washington D.C., Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Seattle, San Diego, Atlanta and Denver with additional expansion throughout 2017.  Senet already has networks in other major metropolitan areas like San Francisco, Boston and San Jose, and with this announcement now has a presence in a total of 225 cities and 23 states covering a population of nearly 50 million people.

Senet’s highly scalable and reliable LoRa LPWA network utilizes multiple gateway solutions from several manufacturers and Senet’s own operations support system (OSS) to deliver network services at very low cost and very high scale. Senet’s ability to manage multiple gateway configurations in a seamless manner, and to deploy them rapidly, allows for unmatched time to market and total cost of ownership for IoT applications across a wide range of verticals, including smart city, smart building, agriculture, oil and gas, metering and asset management.

“This announcement clearly demonstrates our commitment to being the largest and fastest growing LoRa LPWA network in North America”, said George Dannecker, CEO and President of Senet. “Because we were the first in rolling out and scaling a LoRa LPWA network and application here in North America, we have gained the significant experience necessary to continue to grow the network and support the wide range of IoT applications that will be commercially deploying over the coming months and years.”

“We are encouraged to see continued development of purpose-built networks to power the emerging class of low-power, low-bandwidth IoT devices”, said Mark Lowenstein, Managing Director at Mobile Ecosystem. “LPWA networks and the LoRA technology, backed by companies like Senet, are proving to be compelling solutions for accelerating IoT connectivity.”

About Senet, Inc.
Senet, a contributing member of the LoRa Alliance™, is the first and fastest growing provider in North America of low-power, wide-area networks (LPWANs) with its class-leading LoRa® modulation for IoT/M2M applications. LPWANs enable value-driven solutions that can unlock immediate ROI by enabling devices to connect over very long ranges (approximately 15 miles) while delivering very long battery power life (approximately 10 years) for an extremely low total cost of ownership. For applications that require low cost, low power, and long range, the secure Senet network has distinct advantages over cellular, Wi-Fi, and other emerging connectivity technologies for the IoT market. About LoRa Alliance™
The LoRa Alliance™ is an open, non-profit association that has grown to more than 400 members since its inception in March 2015, becoming one of the largest and fastest growing alliances in the technology sector. Its members are closely collaborating and sharing their experience to promote the LoRaWAN™ protocol as the leading open global standard for secure, carrier-grade IoT LPWA connectivity. With the technical flexibility to address multiple IoT applications, both static and mobile, and a certification program to guarantee interoperability, the LoRaWAN™ is already being deployed by major mobile network operators and is anticipated to widely expand in 2016.

About LoRaWAN™
The technology utilized in a LoRaWAN network is designed to connect low-cost, battery-operated sensors over long distances in harsh environments that were previously too challenging or cost prohibitive to connect. With its unique penetration capability, a LoRaWAN gateway deployed on a building or tower can connect to sensors more than 10 miles away or to water meters deployed underground or in basements. The LoRaWAN protocol offers unique and unequaled benefits in terms of bi-directionality, security, mobility and accurate localization that are not addressed by other LPWAN technologies. These benefits will enable the diverse use cases and business models that will enable deployments of large scale LPWAN IoT networks globally.
